Internationally acclaimed pianist Kyoko Hashimoto plays Cooper Hall. This is a rare opportunity to hear this legendary pianist and  teacher, Gyorgy Sebok describes as “...an extraordinary musical talent ...one of the finest of her generation” in a much more intimate space.

Internationally acclaimed pianist Kyoko Hashimoto plays Cooper Hall, based in the grounds of Selwood Manor this coming March. More accustomed to playing much larger concert halls all over the world, this is a rare opportunity to come and hear the performer legendary pianist and  teacher,  Gyorgy Sebok describes as “...an extraordinary musical talent ...one of the finest of her generation” in a much more intimate space.

As one of just 5 dates performing in the UK, the lecture recital coincides with release of her new album on the Japanese Nami label.

The Cooper Hall event will include works by Beethoven, Brahms, Bartok and Bach or as Kyoko affectionately calls them, “The Four B's”.

WIth the lecture recital, the total running time will be approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes

Tokyo born Kyoko is now based in Montreal, Canada and Professor of Piano at McGill University. She has had a prestigious career having started to play the piano aged 3, studying at Toho-Gakuen School of Music in her native city, followed by the International Menuhin Academy, Indiana University and the Julliard School.

Kyoko has performed in more than 25 countries around the world including The Wigmore Hall in London, the Lincoln Centre and Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Centre in Washington and International music festivals.

The recipient of the prestigious 1st grand prize and public prize at the Concours International de Musique Francaise and special prizes at the Budapest International Music festival further endorse her illustrious career.

We are very much looking forward to the Cooper Hall Steinway dancing to the tune of the “Four B's!”
